A little realistic, a little surrealism, is the way I describe my "fantasy" paintings. Everyone seems to like the reflected light of the moon and the way it illuminates objects and vast areas. When using light at night one looks for subtle changes rather than strong contrasts. Many times I use masking fluid in an area that will later be opaque in contrast to the transparent background.
